The Papers & Sources

One section for the whole literature: the narrative first, then the complete reference list. Methodology: this page was built from Inception Labs’ about page (accessed 2026-08-01) — the source of the nine-paper “Some of the technologies we’ve developed” list, the “typewriter/editor” framing, and the Mercury claims (first commercially available dLLM family; ~5× speed), reported here as the company’s own. The math sections follow DDIM’s notation (continuous case) and MDLM’s (discrete case). Errors of interpretation are this page’s, not the sources’.

The nine links split cleanly into two groups: four papers that are general-purpose LLM foundations from the founders’ earlier careers, and five that form the diffusion-LLM research line proper — each one removing an obstacle you can now name in equations (Maths III derives them).
